Fall foliage season is here! Fall is a beautiful time of year to be in the Lake George Region! It is a great time to hike, bike or go for a drive to experience first hand those gorgeous colors. It is also the season for crisp, cool days and brilliant sunshine!



Why not take a scenic lake cruise on one of the ever popular cruise boats of the Lake George Shoreline Cruises or the Lake George Steamboat Company. They offer wonderful lunch cruises allowing you to enjoy the lake at a leisurely pace or perhaps you have time to squeeze in a one hour cruise. Both are available until the end of October!

Jazz on the Lake is being held on September 17 & 18 at Shephard Park in the heart of the village. Bring your blankets and your lawn chairs and enjoy the weekend offering an exciting roster of young innovative performers with deep roots in the jazz tradition. Performance are from 1 - 6 PM.


September 22 - 26 This years Adirondack Balloon Festival is " A Celebration for Walter" (in memory of the event founder - Walter Grishkot, 1926 - 2011). This four-day free event is the oldest and largest balloon event on the east coast set against the backdrop of the beautiful Adirondack mountains.






The Lake George Area Restaurant Week is Back!
This ever popular event features 18 restaurants offering a 3 course meal for the low price of $20.11. Choose from a variety of diverse menus sure to please. All of the participating restaurants and their menus can be seen on our web site at www.lakegeorgechamber.com.

It's still Summer in Lake George!

Summer in the Lake George Region.... there is still so much to do!!



How about taking a Cruise on one of the cruise boats of Lake George Shoreline Cruises or Lake George Steamboat Company's authentic paddle wheel boat! They offer cruises ranging from 1 hour to 4 hours. You can have lunch, dinner or even a fireworks cruise!




Saratoga Race Track is in full season as we speak! Saratoga is just a short 30 minutes from the Lake George Region. Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Traverse Stakes Race being held on Saturday, August 27th. This $1,000,000 purse is limited to 3 year olds and is the highlight of the summer race season at Saratoga!




Speaking of horses.... did you know you can go horseback riding with a variety of companies in the Lake George Region. You can go on a two hour guided trail ride with complete dinner and some of the scenic trails even offer a beautiful lake view. June is "jumpin" in the Lake George Region!

June 15 - 19 is the Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman's Association Annual Convention which holds the Fireman's Remembrance Parade right down Canada Street on Saturday, June 18th at 1:00 PM. Join us for this annual event that honors their fallen brothers.

The Lake George Region welcomes Memorial Day Weekend!








With The Village of Lake George's new sidewalks and landscaping, the businesses are ready to welcome our summer guests! Parks are ready and beaches will be open on weekends through June. Many shops and restaurants will be opening up for the season as well. If you have not done so yet, it is time to start planning you summer vacation in the Lake George Region! We love this time of year in the Lake George Region! All of the seasonal businesses begin to come alive in anticipation of our summer season!






With Mother's Day quickly upon us this weekend there are a lots of Mother's Day Brunches being offered in the Lake George Region! Think of your Mom and take her out to brunch!











While we're thinking of Mom's.... How about a fun filled female weekend of a multitude of events? Check out the Girlfriends Getaway being held at the Sagamore Resort from May 13 - 15.





If you enjoy treasure hunting, we also have our Townwide Garage Sale being held in the Village of Lake George on Sunday, May 15th all day. Who know what "finds" are out there!

With the warmer weather hopefully on it's way, we start to think about spending time on beautiful Lake George. May 20 - 22 celebrates the Queen's Great Boating & Custom Car Weekend. This event will feature a High Performance Boat Parade on Friday, May 20th on Canada Street. Saturday & Sunday will feature off shore demonstration races as well as boat & classic car displays. There will also be live entertainment in Blais Park.


Also in May, The Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB and The Bolton Landing Chamber of Commerce will sponsor 2011 "Golf for Tourism"on May 25th. This tournament will be held at The Sagamore Resort's beautiful Donald Ross designed course. Entry fee is $85.00 per golfer or $400.00 per foursome including a Tee or Green sign with your company or team name. Registration begins a 8:30 AM with 3 PM Awards & Reception. Won't you join us to support tourism and for a wonderful day at The Sagamore!

Spring has finally sprung in

the Lake George Region!

















With our temperatures on the rise, the snow levels falling and the ice beginning to melt, the Lake George Region is starting to come alive from it's wintry sleep.





April 1st welcomed the opening of Trout Season in New York State! According to one local reporter; "When ice-out occurs it usually provides some of the best fishing of the season". Remember that a license is required to fish and can be purchased at a variety of local businesses.




With the spring snow melt the rivers will start to rise. That will bring us right into the Whitewater Rafting Season! We can recommend a number of rafting companies who will assist you with this adventurous activity!





Are you looking for things to do in the Village of Lake George? How about attending the Adirondack Winery's Grand Re-Opening and 3rd Anniversary? The grand re-opening is being held to celebrate Adirondack Winery's recent completion of the major renovation and expansion of its Tasting Room. at 285 Canada Street in Lake George. This award winning winery is holding three days of free wine tasting events! On Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17th they will host a variety of wine tastings sure to please.

Is it Spring yet?

The calendar says it's Spring in the Lake George Region but Old Man Winter is still with us!


This weekend should bring us colder that seasonal temperatures with some nights down in the teens! This is perfect for the sport of Ice Fishing! Remember that a license is required to fish in the Lake George Region and can be purchased at a variety of our local businesses. Ice conditions can change daily! Know your conditions! Good luck to all of our anglers and above all, be safe out there!











The Southern Warren County Snowmobile Association reports that their trails are CLOSED! The gates are in the process of being shut and locked. They wish to thank all of the riders for a fantastic season and they are already looking forward to next year!



There is still lots of time for Spring Skiing in the Lake George Region! West Mountain Ski Area and Gore Mountain are still in full operation! What a great time to sit on their decks to enjoy the Spring Sunshine! And Whiteface Mountain at Olympic Lake Placid is just a day trip away!


With Easter less than four weeks away it's never too soon to start planning your spring or summer trip to the Lake George Region! Spring is a great time to experience Whitewater Rafting! It's March Madness in the Lake George Region!







The snow seems to be never ending as mother nature continues to bring winter storms to the Lake George Region! We received almost 20 inches of new snow last week. The temperatures are quickly rising so be sure to get out there to enjoy it before it's gone!








The Southern Warren County Snowmobile Association says their trails are in the best condition they have been in for many years! With over 100 miles of groomed trails there is still lots of snow to get out there and enjoy before spring arrives.

Winter Marches on in the Lake George Region!





The Lake George Region has received over 70" of snow so far this Winter and we are expecting more later this week! With above average snow fall totals this year, our winter activities are all in full swing!


Ice Fishing is a popular winter activity throughout much of the Lake George Region. Most of the fish sought during the summer are still waiting to be caught beneath the winter's ice. Remember that a license is required to fish and can be purchased at a variety of local businesses. Ice conditions can change daily! Know your conditions and most of all, be safe out there!


Remember, the Lake George Region is home to 3 ski areas! West Mountain Ski Area, Hickory Ski Area and Gore Mountain offering over 745 skiable acres and a variety of winter activities such as: Skiing, Tubing, Show Shoeing, Cross Country Skiing and Apres Ski. For a day trip, head to Whiteface Mountain near Olympic Lake Placid!









Our Snowmobile Trails are in full operation too! Over 100 miles of groomed trails are maintained by the Southern Warren County Snowmobile Association, who says the groomers are running daily and all trails are open! They encourage everyone to ride safe and responsibly!

It's Winter in the Adirondacks!

The Adirondacks have received about 40 inches of Snow in the month of January alone! This is great news for all of our winter activities!

The Southern Warren County Snowmobile Association says their trails are fully open! They maintain over 100 miles of groomed trails in Southern Warren County. The extensive trial network connects the towns of Lake George, Lake Luzerne, Queensbury, Warrensburg and Glens Falls. This year there is a new trail that connects Warren and Washington County. There is even a trail that will bring you right to the ski slopes!

Speaking of Ski Slopes.... the Lake George Region is home to 3 ski areas! West Mountain Ski Area, Hickory Ski Area and Gore Mountain! All three are with in a 30 minute drive! These areas offer over 745 ski-able acres and a variety of winter activities such as: Skiing, tubing, Snow Shoeing, Cross Country Skiing and Apres Ski. For a day trip, head to Whiteface Mountain near the town of Lake Placid.

The Lakes are frozen which makes the popular sport of Ice Fishing possible and don't forget about our Lake George Winter Carnival celebrating it's 50th anniversary, which kicks off every weekend in February.

Snow is here...Happy Dance in the ADKS


Swoooooosh!! It's the sound of a great snowfall that is hitting the Lake George and Adirondack area. This week and weekend should be absolutely perfect for skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and crosscountry skiing.


The snowmobile clubs must be doing the "happy dance" right now. They have been waiting to get that good base built up. If you need info on snowmobile conditions, ski conditions please contact our office at 518-668-5755. We keep all conditions monitored and are hooked into the following Ski Mountains: West, Gore, Hickory and Whiteface and have their info. Additionally, we get daily updates from the South Warren Snowmobile Club.
